Jackson County has more than 300 miles of groomed snowmobile trails which connect to 500 miles of trails in surrounding counties. There's an easy trail connection about a mile from our B&B.
If you prefer cross-country skiing, the Black River State Forest has 24 miles of groomed trails. Wazee Park has 11 miles of ungroomed trails, which offer a view of Wazee Lake. Perrot State Park has nine miles of groomed trails. Mount La Crosse offers downhill skiing with 18 downhill slopes and snowboarding and Bruce Mound near Merrillan offers downhill skiing, snow tubing and T-Bars.

Dreams of Yesteryear Dreams of Yesteryear (Stevens Point): If hitting the slopes is your winter passion, then you'll enjoy central Wisconsin's ski resorts. The most popular ski destination in central Wisconsin is the Granite Peak ski area. Rib Mountain State Park is the home of this ski resort. With 74 runs, you'll feel like you're at a mountain ski resort. Lift tickets range from $18-48 a day. More skiing is available south of Stevens Point about 40 miles on Mt. Morris, WI. Nordic Mountain is a great ski hill for beginning skiiers, and a fun hill for everyone. Cross-country skiing is right in Stevens Point, WI. Part of the Green Circle Trail system is groomed for skiing throughout the winter months.  For advanced skiing, just outside of Stevens Point proper, about 10 miles south-east, is Standing Rocks Parks cross-country ski area. There are 10 miles of trails here, 75% of them rated intermediate and advanced due to the hilly terrain. Tickets are $5.

The Black River State Forest near Millston is 27 miles away and has four miles of classic trails. Perrot State Park in Trempealeau is 42 miles away and has nine miles of groomed trails. Wildcat Mountain State Park at Ontario is 28 miles away and has seven miles of groomed trails. Whitetail Ridge at Fort McCoy just 9 miles away has skiing, snowboarding and tubing. River Run Golf Course just a few blocks from the inn is open for cross country skiing. Outside La Crosse is Mount La Crosse, a full-service downhill skiing and snowboarding facility.
