Happy Valentine's DayIn this issue:
Romantic Valentine getawaysDon't wait to book your room! Valentine's Day is coming up soon. There's no better time of the year to spend a night or even a weekend with your special valentine.
Our Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast Organization members will make your getaway a special event. Check out our members that have specific Valentine's Day specials. Some of our innkeepers will go the extra mile and arrange for flowers and chocolates. All you have to do is book the room, ask for the extra amenities and show up with the love of your life. Leave all the planning to us so you can relax and enjoy yourselves.

Guest rooms with double whirlpools are nearly always the first rooms that get reserved. Member inns that feature this most-requested amenity are Astor House (Green Bay), Brambleberry Bed and Breakfast (Taylor), Cold Spring Inn (Hubertus), Franklin Inn on Durkee (Appleton), Otter Creek Inn (Eau Claire), Second Wind Country Inn (Ashland) and Siskiwit Bay Lodge (Cornucopia).
Brambleberry Bed and Breakfast plans a very special Valentine's dinner Feb. 11 for guests who want to participate.
Many of our members specialize in romance year-round. We're not unaccustomed to marriage proposals being made at our inns. Whether you want to pop the question this year or just express your eternal love for your longtime partner, there's no better place than a Real Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast.
Winter sportsEven though this is turning out to be a short winter for most of us, there is sufficient snowfall for activities like cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or sledding at or near most of our member inns. A great site to check for the latest on snow conditions throughout the state is at Travel Wisconsin. You can even sign up for weekly e-mail snow condition updates for snowmobiling, downhill skiing or cross-country skiing.
As of Jan. 29, the best snowmobile conditions are across the northern parts of the state, where conditions range from fair to excellent. There are more opportunities for cross-country skiing in the state and most of the state's 28 downhill ski slopes report good to excellent conditions. One of our newest Real Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast members Shea-Dy Pines near Marinette offers plenty of winter recreational opportunities, with snowshoeing on 800 acres of private forest.

February recipeHere's a sweet treat from the Franklin Inn on Durkee in Appleton that lets us celebrate Valentine's Day (chocolate) and President's Day (cherries). Innkeepers Judy and Ron Halma really know how to pamper their guests!
