About the inn

The Lumber Baron Inn is a completely renovated and restored home built in 1888 that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house has its original woodwork, lights and stained glass.
The home was built for a man who owned the first lumber mill in Onalaska.

The home is set on three lots overlooking Lake Onalaska and includes the original carriage house and wrought iron fence.
Owners Ken and Sandy Berg restored the home in 1995. It features a spectacular view of the lake, perfect for watching wildlife or sunsets.
The B&B is located right next to the Great River State Trail, making it a perfect place for bicycling enthusiasts.

Lumber Baron is just minutes away from great restaurants and shopping.

My Ladies Chamber: $109

This room was named because there was a door between this and the baron's room, so it may have been a room for his wife. Features antique queen bed and original shutters.

The name for this room comes from a French word for the lovely antique beaded purses which are on display. Antique iron bed and antique furniture. With a 41/2-foot clawfoot tub in the room.

The East Lake Room: $109

This room is not named for the fact that it is on the east side of Lake Onalaska but rather for the architectural style used to build the home. Features a king sleigh bed and a 51/2 foot clawfoot tub in the room.

Violet's Room: $109
