Perrot State Park, where the Trempealeau River meets the Mississippi River and there are 1,270 acres of diverse ecosystems, is 23 miles away. The park has 12.5 miles of hiking trails and some of the most spectular views of the river in the Upper Midwest.
There are also marked hiking trails within the Black River State Forest, which has 68,000 acres of public land about 20 miles from Brambleberry. Hike to the top of Castle Mound and you will be provided views of the former bed of glacial Lake Wisconsin.

The Sheboygan County Marsh offers walking trails and the largest wooden tower in the state, measuring 80 feet and includes four large observation decks.

You can even go there in the winter for the cross-country skiing opportunites. They make it easy to participate in this winter sport because ski rental is offered! Enjoy the quiet beauty within the white cedar forest on 775 acres of land all year round. Heckrodt Wetland Reserve has 3 miles of hiking trails with elevated boardwalks to keep your feet dry in a 76 acre forested wetland, meadow, and open water. This reserve is home to a variety of mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians. Turtles are often seen sunning on logs in the ponds, and the forested wetland habitat makes for great bird watching. Come back in the winter to try the snowshoe trail. 1000 Islands Environmental Center has 240 acres of woodland and river area. Miles of trails provide the wanderer with scenic views of the Fox River and its islands. High Cliff State Park is located on the shores of Lake Winnebago with 15 miles of trails. The park (1,187 acres) features limestone cliffs sacred to Native Americans. The Fox Cities have seven zones of trails. The inn provides a map for the guests. A favorite bike trail to our locals is the Friendship Trail which goes over Little Lake Butte Des Morts by using a trestle bridge. How wonderful that the city of Appleton is connected by bike trails which go right in front of our inn. Our guests take their bikes or walk from the inn and go along the Fox River on the Newberry Trail which is only 4 blocks away.
